Join us on a typical whale shark adventure with Three Islands...
Your day starts with the journey to the west side of North West Cape. From the beach you are transferred to Draw Card where you are warmly greeted and assisted on board by our skipper and the two guiding staff. Once on board, the crew are introduced, you will be fitted with snorkel equipment and, before the boat leaves its moorings, a vessel safety briefing is given.
A short cruise through the lagoon and the marine adventure begins with an introductory snorkel on the World Heritage listed Ningaloo reef. If required, assistance and snorkel tuition can be provided by your guides. A site briefing including safety procedures and reef etiquette is delivered.
Once back on board the star attraction becomes the focal point. Over morning tea, a whale shark interaction briefing is given by your guide who explains the code of conduct. All aspects of what is about to happen is covered. At the conclusion of the brief the vessel fires into life and you can feel the anticipation build as we head to the outer reef waiting for the spotter plane to notify us that a whale shark has been found. The crew mixes with and chats to everyone, answering any questions you might have. Then, the radio crackles and the adventure is about to begin. The deck begins to buzz and you try and remember points of the briefing while maintaining your composure. A mix of sheer excitement with a hint of apprehension is visible on even the most experienced swimmers faces.
"What am I about to do? I'm jumping in the ocean with the worlds biggest fish!?
As the boat is lined up, what awaits our first group of swimmers?
Faces down, you see it emerging from the distance with its massive mouth wide open, as it gets closer and swims past apprehension becomes amazement and the excitement builds as guests swim along with their own big spotty fish.
The adrenalin builds while waiting to be picked up, ready to do it again and again. Our experienced photographer is always there capturing moments that will long be remembered. Once the whale shark interactions are over, we head back to the inner reef to conclude the day with another reef snorkel on Ningaloo.
What do our guests take away? An experience of a lifetime! Satisfaction in the knowledge they have supported eco-tourism, and witnessed something as awe inspiring as the whale shark in its own environment in a sustainable manner. We also guarantee a good nights sleep after the tour. A day in the warm waters of Ningaloo swimming with the whale sharks and other marine life will leave the fittest guest slightly tuckered out!
We believe there's no other experience like it!
We are looking forward to an exciting whale shark season in 2016! Tours commence Monday 14th of March!
