Exmouth 50 Years Celebration
September 15-17, 2017 will see the town of Exmouth and the & the Naval Communication Station Harold E. Holt celebrate their 50th anniversary of proclamation!
This historic weekend will feature a range of exciting activities and events for the whole family.
Friday 15 September - Official Opening of the Ningaloo Centre
Residents and visitors are invited to step inside the $32 million Ningaloo Centre and explore the En-Route to Exmouth exhibition and Reef to Range interpretive centre for the first time. While you are there, check out the library, wonder at the Exmouth Cultural Arts Centre’s Yarn Reef or take the opportunity to record your Exmouth experience in the Shire of Exmouth and WA Museum’s Memory Room.
The memory room is a place for people to meet, share stories, exchange information, catch up with old friends, feel welcome and return home to a community that has changed, but is still so recognisably Exmouth.
At 5pm WA Premier the Hon Mark McGowan MLA will officially open the centre before we light up the building with projection art and pyrotechnics display that will tell the story of Exmouth.
Saturday 16 September - 50 Year Birthday Party
Spend the morning cheering on your favourite team in the Australia versus USA softball match. Bring a chair and enjoy a traditional American hotdog as you are entertained by the traditional American sport.
In the afternoon prepare to be amazed by the sights and sounds of the 50 Years Float Parade. Made by the children of Exmouth District High School, the floats will take you on a journey into Exmouth’s history and celebrate what it means to live in the community today. The party in the park will be a free family event, that will see Federation Park come alive with the flavours of Exmouth, live music and entertainment.
Saturday 16 September - Military Ball
Ladies, take the arm of a dashing gentleman for all the glitter and glamour of the Military Ball to be held from 6:30pm at the Ningaloo Centre. Dance the night away with a brass band and enjoy a sumptuous three course meal featuring all of Exmouth’s finest produce. This is a black tie event.

Sunday 17 September - Family Beach Afternoon
There is no better place to spend the morning than at the beach. Come down and enjoy a morning of games and watch the flotilla parade at Town Beach. In the evening bring the family down to the Yacht club and enjoy the live music from the Merindas.
