Whaleshark season is generally April - July. They generally arrive just after the coral spawning that occurs after the full moon in March and April. As this is a natural occurence there are not set dates. The Whalesharks congregate to the Ningaloo Reef to feed on microscopic creatures known as zooplankton, which gives many international and national visitors the chance to swim with the worlds biggest fish. Costs average approx $200 - $350 per person depending upon location, company, hire equipment and the optional reef dive.
